The above photo is how I imagined my writing process
Now let's talk about reality for a moment...
The photo to the right is my daily writing routine. Yes, that is a cat bed warming my feet. And yes, those are maniacal rainbow scribbles detailing the plot of Size Zero on the wall behind me.
My desk is actually half of a broken white door propped on metal stands... But I do have one window that looks out onto a beige brick wall.
Do I have bad posture from slouching over my computer all day like a closet gremlin? You bet.
That white glow on my face is not makeup; it's the glow of Microsoft Word.
But I've tried everything else, and I'm still writing. Either I'm a masochist or a dreamer and neither one is good.
Abigail attends New York University, Tisch School of the Arts, for dramatic writing. Her play, Grave, premiered at the Goldberg Play festival in 2016. Her collection of short stories, All Sleep, won the Gold Young Author award in the Literary Classics 2017 competition. And she has worked as a model and agent, which she predictably regrets.
